After an absence of four weeks, I sat down this evening to re-familiarise myself with the blog. It was a case of, "What am I writing about again?"

I glance up and read "A Journey of responding to God's call on our lives day by day" ... ah! that was it.

So, I ponder upon how I have responded to God's call in the midst of a particularly busy nine weeks - just life stuff - major surgery, house packing, daughter moving out, shifting from large house to tiny unit, y'know how it goes ;)!

As I reflect back over approx 63 days, I visualise a checklist:

Spend time with GOD daily CHECK
Pray for others CHECK
Praise GOD CHECK
Put on spiritual armour CHECK
Read scripture CHECK (confession: not been daily of late though)
Demonstrate Love CHECK
Speak Boldly CHECK (well, usually)

It has been a period of upheaval for me but also one of enormous healing and growth. GOD has been there for me and has orchestrated some very special healing moments with significant others in my life.

My personal relationship with GOD is ever strong .... after 3 years as a follower of Jesus, I still marvel often, at how lucky I am to have been 'found' .... it is a relationship I value above all others and treasure with all my heart.

I love, accept and encourage others, especially the marginalised. (sometimes it might take a couple of 'goes' and lots of prayer .....but hey! I am human ;)

As committed followers of Jesus, all the above is "just what we do", I am sure. Yet, how many of us do them as they fit into our lives, our routines, when the mood takes us ........

Is it good enough? Hmmmmm, I wonder.

Love the checklist - and then - looking at your last question 'is it good enough I wonder... ' I was struck by something I need to put on a checklist... Review my day with God.
At end of day - just inviting the HS to go over it with me... Each day I do stuff - knowingly or unknowingly that he can open my eyes to. More than just a time of confession - a time of relection and a chance to listen to him... his teaching time.
It might help me in taking each day so casually... make me more aware of the opportunities I have had in it.
Anyhow - your list sparked that thought off in me - or maybe it was more than your list!!

Review my day with God - I like it! Might be a challenge to quieten the 'self-critic' and the 'know-it-all' voices - but I'm up for it ;) By the grace of GOD

You always encourage me Gemma :)

I love this statement of yours: "My personal relationship with GOD is ever strong .... after 3 years as a follower of Jesus, I still marvel often, at how lucky I am to have been 'found' .... it is a relationship I value above all others and treasure with all my heart."

This life as a disciple of Jesus is a marathon and not a sprint - you're doing great Gemma!!

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Hebrews 12:1

Have remembered the 'Review my day with GOD' activity a few times and have found it to be a worthwhile, therapeutic time, as well as giving closure to the day.
Where, upon reflection, I glean that something could have been handled better - I ask for forgiveness and pray for wisdom and discernment when confronted with a similar situation in the future.
Where, things went well, I give thanks to GOD and give HIM all the glory.

So thanks, for that addition to my checklist Rosaleen :)

Mmm - I have also found that end of day check helpful. That could be because with age - you so easily forget what happened on any given day if you leave it more than 12 hours!
