An eight week journey of seeking God as we read.think.pray.live our way through the gospel of John
Dec 24, 2007
Where to from here? (1)
For those who have found it helpful to have the daily Bible readings and don't want it to stop here, feel free to join Gemma and I as we continue to assimilate the gospels. Please send either of us an email if you want to know more.
I'm looking forward to drenching myself in the life and teachings of Jesus as I read through each of the Gospels three times. I am half way through Mark (for the first time) and will then read Luke (again), followed by Matthew and then John. The above link will give you some more info if you are interested in joining me.
Thanks for keeping up the blog this past week Andrew.
I too am assimilating the gospels in accordance with Paul's suggestion.
What I am finding about reading scripture in this way is that I am reading it more slowly and pausing more often, whilst I 'transpose' the various events into 'my world' in Perth, 2008. I guess, you could say, I am 'feeling' the scripture as I haven't before.
Please join us during this lead up to Christmas 2009 by doing the four things listed below. Anyone can join at any time throughout this 8 week period although obviously it would be best if you can begin with us on the first of November 2009.
Requirements:
1. Commit to seeking God EVERY DAY in Nov & Dec '09 in a way that is more radical than anything you have ever done before.
2. Read.think.pray.live your way through the Gospel of John in seven weeks (3 chapters each week) and then 1 John, 2 John, 3 John in the final week.
3. Listen to the Holy Spirit and obey whatever he says to do!!
4. Contribute your insights and experiences to this blog.
May we all continue to seek the Kingdom of God before anything else!
