Sorry I'm late!;)
How timely, given recent posts/comments, that today, I let 'busyness' keep me from this blog. I am sure this is a challenge for many at this time of year.
How quickly I forget that I can't do it in my own strength!
This blog is a connection. It is fellowship.... and fellowship should always be high on my list of priorities if I am to continue to grow and learn in my Christian walk.
I better post this now.

An eight week journey of seeking God as we read.think.pray.live our way through the gospel of John
An Invitation
Please join us during this lead up to Christmas 2009 by doing the four things listed below. Anyone can join at any time throughout this 8 week period although obviously it would be best if you can begin with us on the first of November 2009.
Requirements:
1. Commit to seeking God EVERY DAY in Nov & Dec '09 in a way that is more radical than anything you have ever done before.
2. Read.think.pray.live your way through the Gospel of John in seven weeks (3 chapters each week) and then 1 John, 2 John, 3 John in the final week.
3. Listen to the Holy Spirit and obey whatever he says to do!!
4. Contribute your insights and experiences to this blog.
May we all continue to seek the Kingdom of God before anything else!

I have nothing much to say except Hi!
Having missed the last couple, it was good to catch up with the Tues night home group team.

No Worries... it was probably too long anyhow! But reflected the various ways that people come to belief (or decide to stay in unbelief). It is probably worth saying in the light of your own comments 2 days ago about the persistent, loving acceptance of you by Anne over many months!
With some people - getting Jesus is so quick and easy. With others, they want 'proof' of stuff before they will consider belief.
Basically - what do you do with the latter?
I have gone through the evidence that exists for the resurrection... but I have also said "If you are serious - why dont you tell Him so - and read a chapter or 2 of John each day. If you are looking to find out if He is real - He is always ready to be found." or words to that effect..
However the latter is a cop out since no-one I know has ever actually done that!
I have worked for years with people who have known I am a follower of Jesus. I have had great friendships with lots of them, some have asked me to pray with and for them in various circumstances - but in the end - it has not brought them to a relationship with Jesus. A few have given up trying to climb the corporate ladder in order to have more time for their families... that is all!
So many years - so little fruit!
I see in this chapter Paul - persevering and trying to persuade by any means... He would have used quite a lot of prophesy fulfilled stuff with the Jews... but with us today no one knows the prophesies to start with so this is not a path I have ever tried...
